Volunteer Your Skills to Help Build Safer Homes
Treasure Homes Foundation works to support safer, more accessible homes and stronger communities in the Greater Houston area. Volunteers may be able to contribute practical skills, professional knowledge, coordination support or other abilities that help qualifying home-repair projects move forward.
Make a Practical Difference in Your Community
Volunteer time and skills can help a repair project progress from an identified need to a coordinated solution. Depending on the project, available opportunities and appropriate qualifications, volunteer contributions may support home safety, essential repairs, accessibility improvements and community initiatives.
Skills That May Support Our Work
Depending on current needs, volunteer contributions may include:
⦿ General home maintenance and repair skills
⦿ Plumbing, carpentry or other relevant trade skills
⦿ Accessibility and home-safety knowledge
⦿ Project coordination, scheduling or logistics
⦿ Administrative, communications or community outreach support
⦿ Professional expertise that helps plan or coordinate projects
Some tasks may require licensing, insurance, training, background checks or other qualifications. Volunteers should only undertake work for which they are appropriately qualified and authorized.
How to Get Involved
- Tell Us About Your Skills – Share your experience, qualifications, availability and areas of interest.
- Opportunity Review – The Foundation considers your offer against current projects, safety requirements and operational needs.
- Coordination and Requirements – If a suitable opportunity is available, the Foundation will communicate relevant expectations, scheduling and any required documentation or orientation.
- Contribute Within the Agreed Scope – Volunteers should follow project guidance, safety procedures and the agreed scope of work.
Who Can Volunteer?
People with relevant trade skills, professional experience, administrative abilities or a willingness to support community projects can contact the Foundation. The availability of opportunities depends on project schedules, service area, volunteer suitability and current resources. Submitting an interest form does not guarantee placement.
